Crux Climbing Center has partnered with Texas Climbing Adventures to offer our Gym to Crag Lead Climbing series that helps climbers transition to the outdoors!
In this course, climbers will receive a 2 hour Intro to Lead Climbing at Crux Climbing Center on a Monday, and will learn climbing techniques and terms. Then, within the same week on that Sunday, the climbers will meet with Texas Climbing Adventure’s certified guide who will take them to the heart of Austin at the Barton Creek Greenbelt for an amazing outdoor intro to lead climbing experience.
This package is designed for the intermediate climber. We will offer more advanced courses soon.
Cost
$150 includes both lessons
When
We will run this course the third Monday of every month with the outdoor session the same week on Sunday.
Monday | 7PM – 9:00PM at Crux
That Sunday | 8:30AM – 1PM at Barton Creek Greenbelt with exact location sent out via email and coordinated on Monday
Where
The Monday class will always be held at Crux Climbing Center South. The Sunday class at the Barton Creek Greenbelt will take place at Gus Fruh, 2642 Barton Hills Dr, Austin, Tx 78704. Your guide, if not the same as in the gym, will be provided in a text after the course.
Registration
Please register below and fill out both Crux’s Waiver and Texas Climbing Adventures Waiver.
Minimum 2 participants to make, max 6 participants.
Cancellation Policy – There is a 25% cancellation fee if cancelled in less than 48 hrs. No shows are non-refundable. If course does not make due to limited number of registrations, you will be rescheduled to the next available course.
Prerequisites
Must be top rope certified at Crux, be able to climb 5.9, and have at least a month of top rope experience.
Gear – Please bring climbing shoes, harness, chalk bag, and closed toe shoes for the outdoor course. All other gear needed will be provided.
All participants must be at least 18 to attend.
