CRUX’S PROTOCOLS WITH COVID-19

Update: 5/13 While gyms have permission to open again starting on May 18th, we have decided to wait an additional week to monitor safety and open on May 25th. We will be re-opening in phases with various protocols in each phase. Please take a look at our first two phases. While this is our current plan, we will monitor how each week goes to adjust protocols as needed. These phases and protocols will be posted here and updated as we need.

On May 25th we will activate everyone’s membership that was put on an internal COVID Freeze. If at any point during or before COVID, you submitted a freeze request with no end date, you will remain frozen and charged the $5 fee starting June 1st. If you are not ready to have your membership reactivated, please submit a freeze request. All Paid-in-Full memberships will have their expiration date moved for the time we were closed.

PHASE ONE

May 25 – June 7th | Members Only

ACCESS

    • Operating at less than 10% capacity of people in the gym.

    • Only members will be able to sign up for two hour session online at our website. If a parent would like to bring his/her child, they need to sign up for two spots.

    • Sessions will start at 6:00A and the last session will end at 10:00P to allow for one hour cleaning at the end of each day.

    • Yoga and Fitness classes will start June 1st.

    • We will start with no caps on the number of sessions patrons can sign up for. If we find that patrons are unable to sign up for any times, we will limit the number of sessions a week.

    • There will be separate sign-ups for fitness barn and main climbing area, and patrons cannot move between locations without signing up for both locations.

    • Patrons will not have to sign-up for a fitness class and a fitness barn space, as these bookings are linked and will automatically tally into the fitness barn capacity.

    • No 24hr-access.

    • No dogs.

    • No birthday parties or camps.

    • Kids Club and Rec Team will operate as private lessons, and parents will receive a separate email for further instructions.

      • All members will fob into front desk and exit the door by the kids room.

      • Everyone must wear a mask. Maybe bring more than one if you think you’ll sweat a lot and need to change it out.

      • All members/staff must sanitize hands as they enter.

      • All members will receive a stamp coordinated to the 2-hour session they signed up for.

      • 6 person cap for fitness and yoga classes.

      • Liquid Chalk mandated, no loose chalk.

      • No rental gear, including yoga props/mats.

      • No showers or saunas will be available.

      • 10 person cap in kids room, including parents.

      • New four (4) person cap for climbing classes.

      • All fitness equipment must be cleaned between use.

      • No orientations, we will do skills checks.

      • Every other route spacing rule while climbing.

      • No cash transactions.

      • Multiple hand sanitizing stations will be placed in the facility.

      • Plexi screen for front desk staff.

      • Temperature checking front desk staff.

      • Opening garage door and entrance door during cooler mornings and evenings.

PHASE TWO

June 8th – June 21st | Members, Member Guests, and Punch Pass

ACCESS

  • Operating at ~12% capacity.

  • Members, Member Guests and Punch Pass users can sign up for two hour session online at our website. If a parent would like to bring his/her child, they need to sign up for two spots. Member guests must enter the facility with the member.

  • No additional changes from Phase One.

  • All protocols from Phase One still apply.

  • Orientations are limited to four people.

Update: 4/28 We know we are all excited to get back to climbing and training as soon as possible. However, gyms were not amongst the businesses that have been the go ahead to reopen this week. Once we do get this approval, we will take all safety precautions to reopen the gym on our time and with new precautions in place. We will not be hasty or casual about this. We want to continue to keep our staff, our members, and guests as safe as possible.

Update: 4/15 City officials have issued a shelter in place until May 8th, so we will not open until that is lifted and it is safe to resume business.

With all the questions, unknowns, and challenges surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Crux believes we can all make responsible decisions to help slow down the spread of this virus. With that said, we have decided to do our part and will be closing the gym starting on Wednesday, March 18th until city official announce that it is safe to reopen. We will stay open for normal hours today and tomorrow to allow members and guests to clean out their lockers, get the necessary equipment from our gear store for at home training if needed/wanted, and field questions via phone.

Crux knows that in times like these it is important to have community and a place to de-stress, clear your mind, and move your body. However, we also have a responsibility to protect the health of our staff, members, and community as a whole and we strongly believe this is the right step to take.

During this time, our staff will be paid, as that is one of our goals through all of this, to take care of our family. This also includes our members (see below).

Memberships

  • All monthly drafting memberships will receive a credit on the next billing cycle for the days we are closed in March.
  • If we are closed beyond March, we will suspend billing and only charge prorated dues when we are able to open again.
  • There will be no fees for freezing in March.
  • Paid-in-full membership expiration dates will extend the number of dates we will be closed.
  • There is no action needed to be taken by members to receive the credit or move paid-in-full dates.

Events, Classes, and Programs

  • All events will be postponed for the month of March.
  • All climbing class participants will be contacted to reschedule or to receive a refund.
  • All youth programs will be put on hold with credits and payments operating like a monthly drafting membership.
