Rock Climbing Basics

This class is intended for beginner rock climbers who are looking to gain the knowledge and skills to take their game to the next level! Focusing solely on bouldering, climbers will learn techniques and terminology to start climbing.

Top Rope Belay

Climb to new heights with the Top Rope Belay Certification. This class, taught by certified Climbing Wall Instructors from American Mountain Guide Association, trains new belayers for the responsibility of top rope belay. In this certification class, climbers will learn proper knots for tying in, safety checks, and top rope belay techniques for top rope climbing at Crux Climbing Center. No experience required.

Lead Climbing Class

Lead climbing is an advanced topic and requires focus and practice. Lead by instructors with a Climbing Wall Instructor certification from the American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA), climbers who take this class will learn proper techniques required to pass the Crux Climbing Center lead test. Completing the class cannot guarantee the ability to pass the test, as some climbers will need additional practice. Clipping practice is encouraged before taking the class. Participants must be Crux top rope belay certified, 13 or older, and able to red point 5.9 on top rope.

Private Climbing Lessons

Looking for some 1 on 1 coaching? Book an 1-hour private lesson with Raanan or Sam. This class is designed for beginner to intermediate climbers in the V0-V6, or 5.6-5.12- range.

Falling from the bouldering walls can certainly be intimidating, but with the right techniques and tips (and a bit of practice) you will be falling like a pro in no time! We have created a list of steps to follow to make your falls a bit more comfortable. Your safety is important to us!

We realize that sometimes life happens and you may not be able to make your climbing class. In situations when you need to cancel, please give Crux Climbing Center a call 24hrs in advance of your class and we will issue a full refund. If you call with less than 24hr notice for our instructors, we will only be able to issue a 50% refund. We do not offer refunds for no shows.
