WHAT TO BRING/WHAT NOT TO BRING

All campers must bring their own non-microwavable, non-refrigerated lunch in a sack or cooler everyday. It is also recommended that you provide your child with a water bottle and at least one healthy snack each day to eat during designated snack time. Mark your child’s lunch clearly with child’s first and last name. Please do not bring glass containers.

Campers should NOT bring any valuable items to summer camp programs. Crux Climbing Center cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen property. Our instructors require your child’s attention; items from home (electronics, toys, etc.) can be distracting or unsafe to others. Please consider leaving these items at home or plan to talk to your child about keeping them stored in a cubby throughout camp.

SIGN IN/ SIGN OUT POLICY

A parent or guardian is required to escort campers into and out of the building each day and sign campers in and out of camp. Children will not be allowed to run out to the car or wait at the curb.

Other than a parent or guardian, only individuals listed on the child’s Registration Form may pick-up and sign out a child. Please call Crux to add an additional contact for pick-up. Proper ID is required before staff will release a child. Your child’s safety is our primary concern.

BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS

Crux wants to create a fun, memorable week for all campers. In order to accomplish this, we ask that all campers follow Crux Rules.

Rules:

1 – Be safe
2 – Listen and follow instructions
3 – Respect yourself and others
4 – Respect the space
5 – Have fun!

Campers are expected to respect peers, staff, members, and equipment. Crux discourages behaviors that are unsafe to others or destructive to property. Additionally, we require campers keep their hands and feet to themselves. Foul or abusive language, disruptive behavior, running and/or shouting within the building will not be allowed. Campers are encouraged to participate in all activities.

Crux Camp Staff will encourage campers to follow the rules below. In the event of repeated infractions Crux Camp Staff will discuss behavior with parents at pick up or call home if needed

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

A 100% refund will be granted if a registered camper withdraws from the Crux Camps program within 14 days of the scheduled starting date.

Crux reserves the right to cancel a class that does not meet the minimum enrollment of 6 campers prior to the start of the class. If this occurs, you will be notified and a full refund will be issued.

ILLNESS/INJURY POLICY

The health and wellness of all campers is important to us. If your child has a fever, contagious illness, or infection, please keep them home until it is safe for them to be around other campers.

If a child becomes ill at camp, staff will call the phone numbers listed on the waiver release so that your child may be picked up. Staff shall call a camper’s parent or guardian if the camper has an oral temperature of 100 degrees or greater. If a child becomes seriously injured at camp, the staff will contact the parent/guardian and call 911 for assistance.

LATE PICK-UP POLICY

A $5.00 fee will be charged for every 15 minutes a guardian is late picking up their camper.

OTHER FAQS

  • Are CRUX camps just for rock climbing?

No! Although we do have a strong focus on rock climbing and safe climbing techniques, our camps will offer opportunities for kids to be creative and active in other ways.

  • How should my child dress?

Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for activities and movement: T-shirts, pants or shorts and sneakers are suggested.

  • If my child does not attend every day can my fee be prorated?

No. Attendance is the responsibility of the participant. Failure to a end a class does not entitle you to a transfer or refund. Make-ups are not available and fees are not prorated for absences.

  • Can a neighbor, friend, or relative pick up my child?

Yes, but each child must be signed in/out daily by a designated person on the child’s Registration Form (photo ID required). Changes or additions to the pick-up list can only be made by contacting the CRUX Camp Leader.

  • What if my child needs medication?

If your child needs to take any type of medications (prescribed or non-prescribed), medications must be provided and given by the parent/guardian.
